Blending Design with Landscape: Corten Signage at the Ginninderry Conservation Corridor

Our recent project at the Ginninderry Conservation Corridor is a perfect example of that philosophy in action. We were brought on board to fabricate and install the signage for the main entry wall — a bold, functional piece designed to provide clear wayfinding and information, without disrupting the natural landscape it sits within.
This wasn’t about flashy design or oversized branding. It was about letting the materials do the talking — and allowing the signage to feel like part of the environment, rather than an afterthought.
Why Corten Steel?
For a project like this, Corten was the obvious choice.
Corten steel is built for exposure to the elements. As it weathers, it forms a self-protecting layer of rust that not only gives it its distinctive look, but also strengthens it over time. It’s tough, low-maintenance, and designed to age with purpose — ideal for outdoor applications where longevity and aesthetics go hand in hand.
The recent wet weather in the ACT has accelerated that natural rusting process, bringing out the rich, earthy tones that Corten is known for. The result? A striking, grounded finish that integrates effortlessly with the surrounding bushland.

From plasma cutting to folding, pre-treatment to finishing — we handled it all in-house. That’s how we ensure the final product meets not only our standards, but yours too.
